I was born in Lithuania, which was at the time a part of the communist block of USSR. I thought the lifting of the Iron Curtain would reveal a new world to me, but instead I discovered that the grass isn’t always greener on the other side, it’s green where you water it.

We all find individuality in our appearance, our religious beliefs and our geographical locations, but ultimately we are united by the same beginning and the same end. In the end we are connected by more elements than divide us.

My artwork explores what divides us and what unites us, and how symbols throughout history have contributed to both. I draw inspiration from Dutch renaissance still life, which heavily features symbolism. I also like to experiment with my art, and enjoy testing new techniques and mediums.
